Syracuse University ACHA Men’s Hockey has announced their schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 season. The Orange will open up the campaign on Family Weekend at home against Robert Morris on Friday, September 27th and Saturday, September 28th at the Tennity Ice Pavilion. Friday’s game will get underway at 7:00PM and the series will conclude the following afternoon at 2:00PM.
SU will play a 10 game conference schedule in the Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League this season. This includes 2 games each against Drexel and Pittsburgh. The Orange will take on Stony Brook, Delaware, and Rhode Island 4 times each - only the 2nd game of each weekend series against those opponents will count toward conference play.
Syracuse is slated to play their remaining 16 games against 6 different out-of-conference opponents. This includes 2 game sets with Robert Morris, Kent State, IUP, and John Carroll and 4 games against both Oswego and Niagara.
Niagara University, a team that finished the 2023-24 ranked 10th in the country in the final ACHA ranking, left the ESCHL following last season and has opted to go independent. Niagara won the ESCHL regular season title last season and earned an auto-bid to the 2024 ACHA National Tournament before falling in the first round to Oswego State. The Purple Eagles will head to Tennity on October 5th and January 12th.
Syracuse will welcome back past members of the club when they host Delaware for Hall of Fame Alumni Weekend October 18th-20th. The Orange will square off with the Blue Hens on Friday, October 18th and Saturday, October 19th before the club hosts the SU Men’s Hockey Alumni Game on Sunday, October 20th.
Senior Day for the Class of 2025 is scheduled for Sunday afternoon on February 22nd when ‘Cuse takes on Rhode Island in the season finale.
The Orange do plan to take part in the annual SU x Syracuse Crunch event at the Upstate Medical Arena in downtown Syracuse this season. A date and time for this game has yet to be announced.
The Orange also have a 2 game exhibition series slated against Clarkson University (ACHA Division II) prior to the first weekend of the season. Both games will be hosted at the Tennity Ice Pavilion.
