Chris Timmons, who is going into his first season as the team’s Head Coach, is ready to begin preparing his roster for the 2021-22 campaign.

“I think we have a pretty well-rounded group” Timmons proceeded “We definitely have a lot of young guys which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it just means we’ll have to work that much harder to be ready for October 1st. I think we’re all looking forward to the challenge.”

As Head Coach Chris Timmons mentioned Syracuse’s season opener is set for Friday, October 1st when they host Stony Brook University at 6:30 PM. It will be SU’s first ACHA game action in just over 18 months after the entirety of the 2020-21 was canceled at the hands of the COVID-19 pandemic. SBU will certainly give the Orange an early test - the Seawolves took 3 out of 4 games from Syracuse in 2019-20 on their way to finishing second in the ESCHL. Timmons looked ahead to the 2 game set against SBU and had this to say.

“I think it will be a good experience for our guys to compete in such a big game right off the bat. Stony Brook has always had a very well-respected program and is always one of the top teams in the conference. It will give our guys a pretty good representation of what we’re up against this season.”

Syracuse wraps up opening weekend with another contest against SBU the following day, Saturday, October 2nd, at 2:00 PM. For the remainder of the 2021-22 schedule click here. All home games are played at the Tennity Ice Pavilion on Syracuse University’s campus and are free to attend for students and the general public. Home games are also broadcasted live for free on the SU Hockey Network.
